Casting calls and future films
13 Going on 30: April 23 (Dark Horizons)
The Clearing: May 21 (Dark Horizons)
Secret Window: Despite my rather dismissive trailer review (which I'm sure had international impact...), Columbia Pictures says that this one’s testing so well that they’re moving it up six weeks to March 12. (Zap2It)
Antarctica: Josh Duhamel (Cinescape)
Batman: Intimidation: A Latino Review source is “90%” sure that Morgan Freeman will play Lucius Fox; IGN says that Vincent Cassel (Brotherhood of the Wolf) may play a villain
The Conspirator: Susan Sarandon, Robin Williams. Based on James L. Swanson’s “Manhunt: The Twelve Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killers” (Jo Blo)
Dreadnought: Apparently they’re retooling the Vin Diesel flick “ so that John Cusack will play the villain (although he’s apparently not interested right now).” So then what’s the point? (Dark Horizons)
Gossip Girl: Lindsay Lohan (Killer Movies)
In Her Shoes: Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette, Shirley Maclaine, Mark Feuerstein (Dark Horizons)
The Producers: Nicole Kidman as secretary Ulla (Dark Horizons)
Smile: Sean Astin, Beau Bridges, Mika Boorem, Linda Hamilton, Cheri Oteri, Erik von Detten. (Killer Movies)
Tripods trilogy: Steven Spielberg? (AICN)
The Heart of the Matter: Don McPherson will script from the Graham Greene novel. Martin Scorsese will direct. (Empire Movies)
Hulk 2: Kevin Feige. “It also appears that Marvel is definitely moving towards more of an action premise for the sequel. Some critics of Ang Lee's HULK felt that the picture sacrificed good old fashioned action sequences moments for too much psychological angst scenes. Feige promises that HULK 2 will deliver more of the green goliath rumbling and rampaging.” Apparently they really didn't like him when he was Ang Lee. (Cinescape)
Tamara: Jeffrey Reddick (Final Destination) is working on this “sexy, supernatural thriller.” (Film Jerk)
Assorted Uwe Boll video game adaptations that I refuse to discuss individually: Hunter: The Reckoning, Fear Effect, Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead, Dungeon Siege (CHUD)
The Amityville Horror: “The remake has been pushed back to sometime next year,” reports Dark Horizons. We’ll let you know when we care.
Batman: Intimidation: Superhero Hype has possible news on the Batmobile and the Batears.
The Box: Eli Roth (Cabin Fever) and Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko) will write what amounts to a film version of the 1980s Twilight Zone episode “Button Button”: “The episode aired back in 1986, and featured a dishonorable couple that were presented a mysterious box with a button on its top. They were instructed that if they should press the button, they would receive one million dollars -- but someone that they didn't know would have to die.” Roth will direct. (Cinescape)
Cabin Fever 2: There’s gonna be one. (Moviehole)
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: Alfonso Cuarón says it will be the shortest HP so far. Of course, when you actually know what you’re doing, you can rely on skill rather than length. (Empire Online)
Jekyll: “Mr. Hyde living inside a virtual reality”? A “killer bunny”? (Cinescape)
Kingdom of Heaven: Apparently stunt-crazy Orlando Bloom is not going to be satisfied until he has broken every bone in his body. (Orlando Multimedia)
Lassie: What’s that, girl? Timmy’s in a remake? (Cinema Confidential)
M: “In the vein of ‘The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,’ are you ready for another comic book adaptation set in the past to make the transition from the printed page to the big screen?” NO! (Film Jerk)
Meet the Fockers: Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro were going to be mistaken for gay in Cuba? (Dark Horizons)
The Ring 2: Dark Horizons reports that the current script “is part prequel/part sequel,” but that DreamWorks wants to make a fully-fledged prequel, so that part’s being rewritten.
SharkTale 2: There’s gonna be one. Just as soon as they bother to release the first one. (Cinescape)
Shrek 3: There’s gonna be one. (Sci-Fi Wire)

IMDB: Nicole Kidman Annoys Chanel Bosses for Third Time
** Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman has upset Chanel bosses again - this time for complaining about the label's unflattering clothes. Nicole reportedly infuriated Chanel chiefs earlier this month when she was photographed sporting rival products of the cosmetic giant she endorses. The Cold Mountain beauty signed a $7.5 million deal to promote Chanel's brands last year, but was snapped receiving a free $13,000 Vacheron Constantin Egerie watch from director pal Anthony Minghella. And now Kidman's in trouble for making alleged disparaging remarks about the label's clothes, according to Britain's Hot Stars magazine. Kidman was heard moaning, "They make me so dowdy. I want a younger look - and no more ruffles!" **
